You are right on the mark there with eating the wrong carbs.
Hopefully, those who do try to adopt a vegan-based diet do so by eating the right carbs filled with beneficial fibre.
Unfortunately, many vegan desserts and fake meats do more harm to your health than dairy-filled cakes. I have tried fake bacon a few times and stick with tofu now. Those fake products leave a horrendous aftermath of digestive issues. God only knows what ingredients they put inside them to mask the cardboard flavour.
